Scholarship Recipients

2009 Scholarship Recipients:

Shelly Gander, sponsored by Cooper County Memorial Hospital Home Health Agency.  Shelly is an LPN at Cooper County Memorial Hospital Home Health Agency.  She began her career in health care in 1992 as a CNA at Cooper County Memorial Hospital.  She received her LPN degree in 1994.  Shelly is the Oasis Coordinator and ICD-9 Coder.  Shelly is attending Columbia College to complete her general education requirements and will obtain her RN degree from Excelsior College. 

Audra Morgan, sponsored by Citizens Memorial Hospital Home Health/Hospice.  Audra became a CNA at age 19.  Currently, she is employed with Citizens Memorial Hospital Pre-Hospital Services as an EMT-B.  Audra is attending Bolivar Technical College’s Professional Nursing (RN) program. 

2008 Scholarship Recipients:

Danielle Monroe, sponsored by St. Anthony’s Home Care, St. Louis.  Danielle works at St. Anthony’s Home Care part time as an office assistant while going to school full time at Goldfarb College of Nursing at Barnes Jewish College.  She graduated in May 2008 with an Associate of Science and Nursing degree. 

Nicholas Spencer, sponsored by Comfort Care Home Health Agency, Doniphan.  Nicholas works at Comfort Care Home Health Agency full time as a physical therapy assistant while attending Arkansas State University – Jonesboro pursuing a registered physical therapy degree.

2007 Scholarship Recipients:

Angela Dodds, sponsored by Lewis County Health Department, is continuing her nursing studies in pursuit of a BSN with Kaplan University.  Angela is a home health RN for Lewis County Health Department where most of her home visits are with the elderly.  The advanced degree she is pursuing will assist her in better serving her clients’ health needs.

Jenniffer Sammons, sponsored by Crossroads Hospice in Kansas City, is an LPN and attending Park University in pursuit of her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  Jenniffer plans to continue her work in hospice where she feels she has found her calling. 

2006 Scholarship Recipients:

Shanna Campbell, sponsored by Harrison County Community Hospital Home Health Agency, attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City.  In June 2008, Shanna began working at Harrison County Community Hospital as their speech therapist. 

Ramona Simental, sponsored by Spectrum Home Health Agency in Kansas City, attended Kansas City Kansas Community College’s nursing program.  Ramona is now working at Kansas University Medical Center on their kidney transport floor.
